  1. aoetools (36-1.1) unstable; urgency=medium
  2. * Non-maintainer upload.
  3. * Install native systemd units, udev rules, and if-up.d hook to trigger
  4. discovery. This also installs a modules-load.d configuration and
  5. deprecates /etc/defaults/aoetools. (Closes: #796585)

  7. aoetools (36-1) unstable; urgency=low
  8. * New upstream release, released on 2013-08-07. Changes since the last one:
  9. - Support debugfs-exported debug info in sos-linux.
  10. - Add pkg subdirectory for distro-specific packaging files.
  11. - Only use one of the sysfs version files in aoe-version.
  12. - Restore payload field in aoe-stat output.
  13. - Handle missing sysfs files in aoe-stat.
  14. - Update docs for 3.x kernels.
  15. * Moved this package to 3.0 (quilt) format.
  16. * Bumped DH compat to 9.
  17. * debian/control:
  18. - Depend on debhelper (>> 9), removed quilt.
  19. - Bump Standards-Version to 3.9.5.
  20. - Added mention in the Description that this can run on 3.x kernels.
  21. - Added Vcs-* fields.
  22. - Added ${misc:Depends} to Depends.
  23. * debian/rules:
  24. - Actually migrate it to the compact version, overriding dh_installinit.
  25. - Added an override to install the upstream changelog.
  26. - Added override to dh_auto_install, because we need everything in /sbin.
  27. - Stop restarting aoetools on upgrades. This is the wrong thing, as we
  28. don't have a daemon or anything like that, because everything happends
  29. inside the kernel once the devices are mounted. We caused unnecessary
  30. grief with it (closes: #568554). I'm very sorry.
  31. * debian/watch: Added.
  32. * debian/patches:
  33. - 02_no_hyphen_in_manpages: Refreshed, and fixed a typo in aoeping.8.
  34. - 03_enable_hardened_build: New, to enable CFLAGS/CPPFLAGS/LDFLAGS from
  35. the environment in order to have hardened builds.
  36. - 04_support_slash_run_slash_udev: New, adding /run/udev to the udev
  37. checks. Thanks, Roger Leigh (closes: #644308).
  38. * debian/aoetools.init:
  39. - Unified the style for loops and whitespace.
  40. - Removed PATH with /usr elements to avoid lintian tripping on the wrong
  41. check.
  42. - Added aoetools to Provides.
  43. - Added 'status' action, fixed a bug with LVMGROUPS and clarified the case
  44. when we don't mount anything because of /etc/default/aoetools.
  45. - Added support for assembling RAID devices during start-up. Based on a
  46. patch by Gabor Kiss (closes: #606307). Thanks, Gabor!
  47. * debian/aoetools.default: Added support for RAID_ARRAYS and switched to
  48. single quotes.
  49. * Added hooks for initramfs-tools in order to be able to support booting
  50. from an AoE root device. Thanks, wolfle (closes: #591026).

  52. aoetools (32-1) unstable; urgency=low
  53. * New upstream release:
  54. - New tool: aoe-sancheck - diagnoses MTU and other network issues.
  55. * Fixed part of #559335. I'm not convinced that we should alter the
  56. syntax of /etc/default/aoetools, though. Now the init script does not
  57. try to unmount filesystems already unmounted.

  63. * debian/patches:
  64. - Removed old patches.
  65. - Added 02_no_hyphen_in_manpages.patch to fix all lintian warnings.
  66. - Added descriptions to patches.

  68. aoetools (30-2) unstable; urgency=low
  69. * When loading the kernel module, marshal into the module the list of
  70. interfaces that we want to run AoE over. This fixes an obscure security
  71. problem where AoE traffic could go over a different interface than the
  72. one specified by the administrator (closes: #408042). Thanks, Jacques
  73. Normand for the explanation and Juan Céspedes for the patch.
  74. * debian/rules: Rewrote some part in order to be more verbose and solve
  75. the case when no volume is mounted. Thanks, Ferenc Wagner (closes:
  76. #492905).

  97. - Support new payload size information from AoE driver.
  98. - Handle aoe-flush without arguments correctly.
  99. - aoe-flush: support flushing specific devices.
  100. - Fixed and added several manpages.
  101. * debian/aoetools.docs: Removed TODO.
  102. * aoe-flush.in: Patched to comply with dash-compliant shells.
  103. * debian/control:

  108. aoetools (21-1) unstable; urgency=low
  109. * New upstream release. Main changes are:
  110. - Merged Debian modifications for solving bashisms.
  111. - Now the tools are udev-aware.
  112. - Added aoe-version tool for getting AoE-related software information.
  113. - Added aoecfg tool, a full implementation of the config query feature of
  114. the AoE protocol.
  115. - Added some additional manpages and clarified copyright.
  116. - Enhanced aoeping.
  117. * debian/copyright: Added some information for making clear that Coraid is
  118. the real copyright holder.
  119. * debian/control: Added aoe-flush, aoe-version and aoecfg to the
  120. description.
  121. * Makefile: Added AOE_CFG_OBJ to the clean target.

  123. aoetools (15-1) unstable; urgency=low
  124. * New upstream release:
  125. - Man pages improved.
  126. - Missing device nodes trigger an error in the scripts now.
  127. - aoe-flush command added, for removing devices in driver memory.
  128. - Support aoe devices without "etherd" prefix in name.
  129. - Add support for -c flag to aoe-interfaces.
  130. - Some Debian changes merged.
  131. * debian/aoetools.init:
  132. - Change Provides: in the LSB header from 'mountaoe' to 'aoe'.
  133. - Add a comment about the loading of the aoe module.
  134. - Rearranged logic a bit, in order to postpone module load until we have a
  135. valid interface list. This has the added value of resolving (again) the
  136. installation in a new system.
  137. - Sleep 1 second before checking for /dev/etherd/discover, to give udev a
  138. chance to create the files.
  139. - Merged most of the modifications to the init script, kindly contributed
  140. by Glen W. Mabey. I added robustness and fixed some old errors while at
  141. it. This closes: #421554, #408044, #387552 (finally).
  142. * debian/aoetools.default: Added support for LVMGROUPS and AOEMOUNTS.
  143. * debian/rules: Added support for creating rc0.d/S34aoetools and
  144. rc6.d/S34aoetools.
  145. * debian/copyright: Point to GPL-2 instead of GPL.

  152. aoetools (11-1.1) unstable; urgency=high
  153. * Non-maintainer upload.
  154. * Have the init script opportunistically modprobe aoe, and exit out
  155. if $INTERFACES == none before checking for /dev/etherd, so that the
  156. PACKAGE installs cleanly on unconfigured systems; patch from
  157. Steve Langasek. (Closes: #391345)

  159. aoetools (11-1) unstable; urgency=low
  160. * New upstream release:
  161. - Use POSIX shell math instead of relying on bc or dc (closes: #377431).
  162. * The introduced changes, as is, do not work with discs bigger than 2 GB.
  163. The problem is that POSIX arithmetic is limited to 2147483648, but not in
  164. bash. Probably upstream author (and Warren Turkal) have /bin/sh pointing
  165. to /bin/bash, so he (they) did not see the problem. Changed all the
  166. scripts using bashisms to use /bin/bash.
  167. * debian/rules: Binaries should go to /sbin instead to /usr/sbin. If not,
  168. we are preventing users from using AoE volumes in the early boot process,
  169. as well as for hosting the /usr directory. Many thanks to Warren Turkal
  170. for pointing out this (closes: #388335).
  171. * debian/control:
  172. - Added aoe-revalidate to the list of included tools.
  173. - Bumped policy version to 3.7.2.1.
  174. * Added /etc/default/aoetools and /etc/init.d/aoetools in order to
  175. initialize AoE devices just after network goes up (position 41 in runlevel
  176. S). Added a README-Debian about this subject. This closes: #387552.

  182. - Bump dependency on debhelper to >= 5.
