  113. * Notes
  114. ~~~~~~~
  115. (1) */*/linux-gnu (Linux platforms):
  116. ngIRCd has been tested with various Linux distributions, such as SuSE,
  117. RedHat, Debian, and Gentoo using Kernels 2.2.x, 2.4.x and 2.6.x with
  118. various versions of the GNU C compiler (starting with 2.95.x and up to
  119. version 4.3.x). The eldest glibc used was glibc-2.0.7. ngIRCd compiled
  120. and run on all these systems without problems.
  121. Actual Linux kernels (2.6.x) and glibc's support the epoll() IO interface.
  122. (2) This compiler is an pre-ANSI C compiler, therefore the source code is
  123. automatically converted using the included ansi2knr tool while building.
  124. (3) Using the kqueue() IO interface.
  125. (4) Using the /dev/poll IO interface.
  126. (5) Using the epoll() IO interface.
